Before actually cooking in the outdoors, you should find camping stoves that can give you what you exactly need. There are a lot of stoves to choose from and the gas or the fuel that it needs should also be thought of carefully. There are always two sides so its best to weigh in your options before buying any stove.

• Propane

This is perhaps one of the most easy to find fuel there is. It can be bought in small or large canisters which depend on your needs. These canisters can actually be refilled to lessen the hassle of buying another canister. Also, stoves that use this kind of fuel are ensured with efficient burning. It easily heats and cooks up the food in no time. Stoves using propane are great for group camping when used with two or more burners.

• White gas

In a cold whether, stoves using white gas are to be used. White gas is also less costly than other fuels so it's also easy to find and buy. If the propane can be bought in small and large canisters, the white gas can also be bought in such though in a bigger amount. The white gas normally comes in canisters that are about a quart or a gallon in size. The canisters are also refillable thus making it easy to carry around.

However, there is a catch when using white gas. It is a bit tricky to use and at the same time flare-up prone. So just be careful when using it. Sometimes people have to mess with the stove for it to function correctly and get things going.

• Canister gas

The canister gas isn't recommended for those who want to camp in cold weather and also higher elevations. But this is great for those who want to have a warm weather camping. Backpacking during the weekends and bike trips can also use this kind of gas. The canister that contains the gas is disposable and recyclable so it won't harm the environment.

Even though others claim that its canisters are more expensive rather than buying the white gas in bulk, they still stick to it because of its convenience.

• Alcohol

Alcohol can be used in other things aside from cooking food. It too is easy to find and at the same time inexpensive so many people use this. Its downfall though is that it does not burn as quick as the others making cooking longer.

With these things, you are now set to for outdoor cooking. This means that fire will take place. Be extra careful not to place the gas or fuel near the fire because it's flammable and may explode. Another thing to be cautious of is to check what fuel or gas does your camping stove need. Because putting and cooking with the wrong fuel may lead to an ever greater damage that can be out of hand. With these things said, hope that you'll have a great time cooking outdoors.
