Have the Ultimate Beach Camping Fun with the Kids
69Having a beach camping trip is one great way to spend quality time with the kids. After all, children love everything that has to do with the beach—wonderful sunny weather, white sandy shore, sparkly turquoise waters, and the fun activities to do. If you’re going to plan for a beach camping adventure, it’s best that you keep these tips in mind so you and the little ones would have the ultimate fun.
1. Always keep an eye on the kids
This is the first rule when going on a beach outing. Whatever happens, never take your eyes off your children most especially when they’re in the ocean. It would only take a second for them to drown or be washed away by strong waves. See to it that they don’t swim in unrestricted areas. Always have an adult accompany them and always have them wear floatation devices even if they know how to swim.
2. Slather them with sunscreen
Sun protection is another important concern when you’re at the beach. It is best not to let the kids out in the sun from 10am to 12 noon, as this is when the sun’s rays are strongest. Also, don’t forget to apply sunscreen (at least SPF 20) on their skin an hour before going out. Having them wear hats and sunglasses with UV protection is also a smart move.
3. Prepare scrumptious beach food
Beach camping trip won’t be complete without delectable beach food and drinks like barbecued meat and chicken, grilled fish and seafood, and fresh fruit kabobs. Bring a reliable camping grill so you can whip up delicious treats that everyone will love. Just don’t choose to cook elaborate meals that will take you all day to prepare. You would want to have ample time left for bonding with the kids and doing fun beach activities.
4. Bring all the right camping gear
Make an extensive camping checklist to ensure that you don’t forget anything important. Some of the camping gear you’ll need to bring include camping tents, sleeping bags, air mattresses, lanterns, flashlights, first aid kit, survival tools, cooking and eating utensils, and many more. For the camping tent, it would be best to invest on heavy duty family tents that will comfortably sleep the whole family.
5. Prepare fun and exciting beach activities.
Some of the games and activities that you can do during the trip include treasure hunting, sand castle building, swimming, beach volleyball, beach combing, hiking, trekking, salt water fishing, boating, jet skiing, parasailing, and so many more. Consider your children’s age, likes, and personalities when planning the activities to do.
6. Keep the kids comfortable
Pack sufficient clothes for the children. Bring extra towels and blankets to keep them dry and clean after a good round of playing on the sand and swimming.
Kids would surely enjoy going on a beach camping trip with you. They will definitely have a blast playing, running, swimming, and building sand castles. Just make sure that you plan it right and you keep these tips in mind so that everyone will have fun, and your kids will be kept safe at all times.
