Camping Checklist
58In a camping trip, there all sorts of camping supplies that should be brought like tents, bags and the likes. A readily made checklist is the best solution to avoid forgetting anything before the trip. It also lessens the chances to bringing unnecessary things that can only add to the load. One better thing about having a checklist is that people can easily think if they need to add something else from what's already been a staple in the camping trip.
- Map and Compass
These are perhaps the most important things to bring in a trip especially if the campers will be going to the location for the first time. Also, it will avoid the chance of the people getting lost in an unfamiliar territory. Better be safe than sorry. Having a map helps them too to familiarize themselves with the other places near their campsite.
- Tent
This is the only thing that stands between the individuals and the elements. Sometimes, it is better to stay inside the tent when there is a change in weather. Just make sure that the tent is securely bolted to the ground so that when the wind blows, the tent won't topple down. The size of the tent should be able to accommodate the people who will be camping unless they want a tent for each of them.
- Backpack
Having a backpack ensures that the carrying of the camping stuff will not be much of a hassle since you'll be carrying the camping things at your back. This makes your hands free which are needed when hiking or trekking. You need all the strength you have to pull yourself upwards when the need arises.
- Food
In order to keep you going, you must eat food. Without food, you won't be able to have enough energy to finish the trip. The foods that you will be bringing to camp are those that do not spoil easily. Canned foods are normally brought because it can be easily cooked with heat or in this case, fire.
- First Aid Kit
Because you're quite far from the city, you never know what can happen to you. Therefore bringing a first aid kit is also recommended. You need to bring medicines that can ease pain, nausea and the like. Ammonia can also be brought just in case your company faints.
- Clothes and Shoes
The clothes you are to bring would suit the weather condition of the camp site. The shoes also should suit the condition of the camp. Of course wearing stilettos while going camping is a no-no and wearing a gown is not acceptable either.
- Lanterns or Flashlights
There are camp sites that do not have electricity so you must bring your own source of light. Lanterns or flashlights can be of great help in finding your way when darkness fills in the place. With light, you can still do whatever you need to do without any hassle because you can see what you are doing.
